Helping Students Achieve Their Learning Potential
Through Prescriptive Tutoring

The value in our approach lies in the fact that the student will need less tutoring in the future, potentially saving hundreds of dollars per year. Homework assistance programs never develop the skills needed for independent, high level learning.  The student is always dependent on someone else to teach and re-teach the materials. This does not happen with EEC’s program,

Is your child struggling with reading or Failing Mathmath?

Do you believe your child is an underachiever?

We can help!

Mesilla Valley Education Enhancement Center (EEC) offers customized one-on-one and small group tutoring to students in the Mesilla Valley from Las Cruces to El Paso. We provide tutoring services for students from kindergarten through college.

The EEC method provides much more than subject tutoring. While most tutors provide instruction in selected subjects or “help with homework”, Mesilla Valley EEC recognizes that a student may be having difficulties because of individual factors. Using an approach known as prescriptive tutoring we evaluate each student to determine what, if any, difficulties the student has with the learning process. Using the results of the student evaluation we then create growth plans that address your child’s needs. These individualized learning plans may include:

  • Learning how to problem solve
  • Developing self esteem through achieving skills
  • Mastering organizational skills
  • Learning to focus and stay on task
  • Increasing vocabulary and receptive language skills
  • “Automaticity *” in reading, math, and decoding word skills
  • Higher level reading comprehension and math skills

* automaticity...

Automaticity refers to knowing how to perform some arbitrary task at a competent level without requiring conscious effort—i.e. it is a form of unconscious competence.
